LOKKIN' GOOD!!!! Best!!
My favourite place to listen and/or preform. We are very fortunate, and Linda, you are doing a great job!!!
Great site se you at the COLORS
It looks as if I will be there from mid-June until mid-July. I see there are two concerts during that time. I hope to make at least one of them. I also hope to be there for Mabou Days. I'd like to visit the Stan Rogers Festival too. Hope all is well there. Peace, Dale
Hi Linda, In a recent Oran I see you are on the board for Celtic Colours. Congratulations. I know it also involves a lot of work. I've made it for Celtic Colours in 2002 and 2005. I have a dream of being there in 2008. My problem is the college where I teach part time needs me in the fall more so than in the winter. I'll be back, I just don't know when. I've shared this thought with others, but I'll share it with you too. The Cape Breton performers go all over the world. Wouldn't it be possible that Celtic Colours could send some one sheet flyers folded in thirds to the concert sites(provided the performer is willing) and then when they have their CDs for sale and sign them these could be lying there for people to take. I'm guessing that this would bring some more guests to Cape Breton and Celtic Colours. In the summer of 2006 The Cottars were at the Great Lakes Folk Festival in Michigan. I overheard the person ahead of me in line waiting to have my CD signed talking with them. They were trying to tell her about the music on Cape Breton, but had nothing which they could hand to her. Afterwards I talked with this lady and gave her the phone number for Tourism Nova Scotia. One of the things I did at the end of Celtic Colours both years I was there is ask if I could have some of the "programs" which were of no use and bring them home. I took them to our folk music society and shared some information about Celtic Colours. I have no idea if anyone traveled to Cape Breton, but it was worth a try. I really feel like the Cape Breton performers are some of the best ambassadors you have for Cape Breton. They love their home and would love to have people from away visit it. I'm not sure you'll get to read this, but I thought I'd try while I was online. Peace, Dale

I've gone to Dalbrae Academy for the last four years, and was privilege to have Strathspey Place located inside the school. It's an amazing building, with amazing talent that passes through it. We are very lucky to have such a place!

hi guys just thanks again for every thing e mail me some time.
It was very interesting reading, as i did not know about Strathspey existed. Its' funny how we in the same province do not realize the beauty of talent right in our back yards. The foremat of this info package has been well put together and whoever did this, i tip my hat to them....it makes me want to drive to mabou some time and take in the theatere...thanks for the good infor..

It was my first time going to the Strathspey Place. It's a very lovely place. Joel Plaskett's performance was amazing. thank you so much.
I've booked two concerts during Celtic Colours and hope to catch another prior to the Festival. Strathspey Place is a GREAT performance venue. For those of you who have never been there, you are in for a treat! Maybe I'll see you there in October. Peace, Dale
Our first visit to Strathspey Place in 2003 was truly wonderful! Alistair MacLeod signed his novel for us, his son performed, and a great fiddler had his breakout performance. Looking forward to a return visit. This is another great website Cheryl!!
i love the strathspey place !!!!!!!
Strathspey Place Theatre does not only provide an outstanding viewing experience for the audience, but also provides musicians with AMAZING acoustics! Of all the places I have performed in, Strathspey Place is definitely #1! Keep up the excellent work, everyone!

EVERYONE GO SEE JOEL PLASKETT ON THE 29TH! HE'S ABSOUTLY AMAZING! GOING TO BE AWESOME! GO GO GO!
MEEGHAN MCDONNELL please contact me as I may have info on MULLINS and MACEACHERN families.
The John Allan show was absolutely fantastic! A fitting tribute for a wonderful man and entertainer! I thought it appropriate to make a special remark about the youngest performers of the night - that would be Tara Rankin - her Gaelic song was so amazing and her delivery was perfect, and to little Christena - well done! She had the audience in the palm of her hand! Great job to Linda for a fine concert - loved every minute of it and didn't want it to end! Cheers for now.
I just got my latest copy of The Oran and see the concert in honor of John Allan Cameron is sold out. I had thoughts of calling in for a ticket for one of my friends in Mabou who is a big fan of John Allan. It's great to see Starthspey Place continue to grow and flourish! Peace, Dale Wolfgam
Hi I think that it was a great experience working with you linda and all you guys I will miss you all thanks for tanking the time out of your busy schedule to show me how to do all that stuff I had a great time in the school but I wish I was still there. Say Hi to will and justin and all the gang.
No Place Like Cape Breton
just saying hi. Had fun with you guys at the ECMA's
I'm glad that you've enjoyed your time in Cape Breton. We pride ourselves on being the best people in the world, and always try to make people feel at home. Strathspey place is a wonderful facility. Everyone should experience it at least once in their lives. I frequently go there, and have recently seen The Usual Suspects, which was a breathtaking experience. I have also seen the rock group that you have spoke of, Willy's Back. The actual name is Billy's Flick, and they put on a great show. They have some really good original songs and are very good entertainers. They have just released a cd, Unexpected, which I think everyone should pick up. Anyways, I'm glad you've enjoyed your time In Cape Breton and hopefully you will come back, and make sure you stop at Strathspey place agian.
Strathspey Place is good. Real Good. State of the art Facility that is as good as anywhere. Having been put out of the playoffs in baseball early, My wife and I decided to do some travelling in Canada. We researched on tourist locations in Canada, and Cape Breton is said to be one of the most Scenic and picturesque areas in the world. We decided to travel around the cabot trail. We stopped to stay in Mabou and ended up Going to strathesppey place. There was a young band playing, Willy's Back, and it was quite entertaining. It was a wonderful experience and everyone We met in Cape Breton was friendly and kind.
I agree. I think its good that you may allow some 'Bands' in there not just cedlih's. I know its a strong part of our culture... but no reason we cant mix it up a little. THe youth in our area like to hear more than one style of music, and i say lets have more of it!!! Love Strathspey Place. Keep up the good work!
WOW! Im so glad to see yo guys getting some rock and roll music in there with Billys Flick. Would love to see this on more of a regular basis. Lots of good bands around. Maybe this is the start of something new! Who knows.... Celtic is cool... but Rock is king!!
Was to Strathspey Place a week ago to see the fantastic musical put on the children. Amazed at how well the show turned out, such talent! Great job all who contributed, can't wait for next year!

I think you have a wonderful facility. I'm sure it's professionally managed by people who know how to expertly combine environment, business and technology with art and society. Whoever the team is that runs your theatre, I think they are doing an oustanding job. It will now be high on my list of places to visit.
If I ever come to Nova Scotia, I know where I'll go first!
Sophia McElroy was also my grandmother. My dad was Frank McElroy. If Sophia was your grandmother then we would be cousins. Please email me back as I am trying to figure out where in the family you are.

I would dearly love to see Rita MacNeil and Garnet Rogers, but circumstances keep me in Michigan this summer. I know your audiences will LOVE these GREAT performers! I have a couple of friends traveling to Cape Breton in late August. Do you have anybody booked for that time period? I truly miss Strathspey Place. It is a great performing venue. Peace, Dale
I watch Mamma Mia all three nights and when I thought it couldn't get any better you young adults surpassed all our expectations. Excellent Job. Well Done. Every one is proud of each and everyone of you. It certainly was three nights to remember. Bravo Dalbrae - Bravo Amanda.
